Christmas Day. What a memorable day it had been for me. But it's not the kind of memory that I wanted. Was supposed to have a makan session with my first batch of P5s whom I had taught in 1997 but somehow 'Man proposes, God disposes'. Had been looking forward to this day but due to some miscommunication, I was the only one present and ended up having to cancel the steamboat reservation. I guessed we were not fated to meet this year. Hopefully there will still be another chance next Christmas or any other Christmas. Anyway, one never knows how many more Christmas will one get to enjoy. Sound pessimistic? Well, that will depend on how you see it. I see it as being pragmatic rather than pessimistic. There have been numerous cases whereby one's life is being terminated unexpectedly. Our lives are so vulnerable and fragile. One moment one is here, the next moment one could be gone for good. We are all victims of circumtances and most of the time events that happened are beyond our control. As the saying goes, "What will be will be, what won't be will never be" So let's live each day to its fullest and treasure our present. May all still have a Merry Christmas and a successful year ahead.
